Introduction to Nutrition Policy:
- Overview of nutrition policies
- Menu choices, special diet, food & drink consistency/modification, presentation, modified eating utensils, positioning
Framework for Developing Nutrition Procedures:
- Steps in creating effective procedures
- Key components of nutrition procedures
- “Food, Nutrition and Hydration Policy For Adults Accessing Disability Services” HSE 2020
- “Healthy Eating Older Adults” (HSE 2021)

Regulatory and Ethical Considerations:
- Understanding legal and ethical aspects
- Compliance with national and international guidelines

Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Tools and methods for evaluation
- Continuous improvement of policies and procedures

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, participants will have a solid understanding of the foundational elements of nutrition policy and procedure, practical skills for developing and implementing these policies, and the ability to critically evaluate and adapt to current challenges in the field of nutrition.
