Conflict Management Awareness Training


Course Background:

This course is essential as work related violence is a growing concern in most customer facing roles. Workplace violence is any incident where a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances related to their work. By completing this course, participants will learn how to correctly and safely deal with any conflict which may arise in the workplace.

Course Content:

  • Outline the legislation in relation to workplace violence
  • Understand the principle of dynamic risk assessment and workplace violence
  • Demonstrate the person object and place risk method of risk assessment
  • Identify the skills to signal non-aggression
  • Understand aggressive body language
  • Demonstrate basic physical intervention techniques
  • Outline the importance of accident and incident report forms

Upon successful completion of this course participants will gain the necessary skills and knowledge needed to:

  • Understand the causes of conflict in the workplace
  • Demonstrate basic physical intervention techniques related to real life workplace hazards and risks
  • Understand how personal style impacts on conflict management
  • Understand the role of conflict in the workplace

This Course is Designed For:

This course is aimed at people who work in customer focused operations where the risk of violence from members of the public is real and tangible.

Training Methodology:

This course is classroom based; it is highly interactive with role-playing and practical exercises to reinforce understanding and learning.

What to Bring to the Course:

While pens and paper will be supplied, participants are free to bring their own. Participants should wear comfortable clothing for practical activities.

Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a certificate of attendance provided by Samson Training.
